I like to message people as if we’re in the middle of a conversation when in fact we aren’t at all. Choosing from one of the many common sayings thoughtlessly passed around but have little value only adds to the fun.
Out of nowhere, I might send the message: Well, that’s just the way things are Fiona.
JB and I were conversing about kittens and floral arrangements, as is normal, when he sent me a link to an image ripped violently from The Simpsons. I thought about it, and decided slash hoped the graph should eventually spike, signifying the point at which the game is beaten.
JB suggested we refer to this magical point past which all is happy as The Doomsday Spike. I agreed completely.
It occurred to me that I have yet to actually survive a Left 4 Dead mission on advanced. Twice, I was part of a winning team. Once with Mike, in which he was the only survivor. Once with Tim, in which he was the only survivor.
Those guys hate looking out for number one – by which I mean player number one.
The other day JT and Tim came over to kill some ninjas and also some zombies. JT set the difficulty to expert without telling us. It was ridiculous. I kept mowing down my teammates with stray bullets.
Sometimes I have trouble differentiating them from the zombies. Especially Bill, because he is old. Also Francis, because he wears a black jacket.
Karl is not a fan of the daily posts, and would prefer a single post for every two days that pass. Starting now, we may switch to that more relaxed post schedule. Thoughts?
By the way, I’m pretty sure today marks one complete month of daily posts. To all you people who thought it couldn’t be done I say disproven by counter-example.
I may have been the only one.
I still don’t believe it can be done.
I think maybe Karl is right, quality over quantity. Some of the posts lately have become a little rushed. That’s fine if your only goal is to write something everyday, but I think your real goal is writing something (regularly) that people look forward to reading. I think you would be able to achieve that easily by giving yourself an extra day.
Also, there are plenty of happy intelligent people. I think maybe your graph is missing a dimension or two. I’d also say that The Doomsday Spike is optimistic but, much like the afterlife, I see little reason to believe it exists.
